Expectation of our Human Clients

It is critically important for clients to understand that training their pup is a team effort between the human, the pup, and the trainer.

  • Human involvement during training sessions is crucial for both the pup, and you, as the pup’s new pack leader.
  • Continuing training at home ensures your dog will receive the repetition and practice they need to become proficient in their training.
    • Without this, your pup is unlikely to become, and stay proficient in their obedience behaviors.
    • This includes homework that you will receive during training to be completed in between training sessions.
    • If problem behaviors are the focus of the training, this point is even more important.
  • If there are multiple humans in the pup’s home, everyone will need to learn to be consistent when reinforcing the pup’s expectations, and when setting boundaries that the pup must learn to respect.
